Tennessee CLEAN will create a commission to develop and implement policies to prevent litter in Tennessee by:
- Creating and implementing a program for plastic, glass, and aluminum beverage containers that recovers 85% of containers sold within Tennessee
- Developing a carryout bag reduction program
- Developing and implementing a statewide litter program to comprehensively address litter prevention and reduction
- Evaluating existing state laws and rules that address litter, report to the general assembly on the effectiveness of the laws and rules, and make recommendations on how the laws and rules may be improved
